The work is done, the sun is shining and the coals are glowing in the barbecue... summer has begun! Are you still going on holiday or are you staying home? Wherever you are this summer, you will probably take lots of photos to keep the memories of the summer of 2021 alive forever. Big Freddy is happy to give you 5 tips on how to capture your holiday and summer moments even more beautifully!
1. The best photos are taken at the beginning or the end of the day
The right light can make or break the success of a photo. It is therefore very important to consider when during the day you take the photo. The light after sunrise is softer than mid-day, especially when you are at a summer destination. The bright light in the afternoon can cause details that you wanted to highlight to disappear. On golden-hour.com you can see when the light is at its best at your holiday destination!
2: Pay attention to small details for surprising and original photos
On holiday it is tempting to quickly photograph the sea, huge boats, beautiful hills and snowy mountain tops. You really should keep doing that, but don't forget the details. Try to look at your surroundings in a different way and pay attention to the little things. These small details often provide the most beautiful and original photos. Zoom in on a flower or plant, photograph a shell up close with the sea in the background or take a photo through a glass of drink and be surprised by the effect that carbon dioxide gives.
3: Take your photo book or photo collage into account
Just before you pack your suitcase, take a look at the wall. Wouldn't it be great if there was a beautiful collage of your summer hanging there? Then think about what theme this collage should have. Think about colors and combinations of views and people. During the trip, look for places that fit perfectly within your picture and photograph them. You will benefit from it at home.
4: Play with proportions
By playing with proportions you can easily show how vast and big the environment is. For example, photograph a mountain where a group of hikers or cows are visible to show how high the mountains are. The other way around it also works well by photographing something small up close with a cliff or mountain in the background. In this way you create a very nice and playful effect.
5: Try a different pose
Avoid getting the same kind of photos from all your friends, girlfriends or family. People tend to adopt the same pose when they are photographed. You can change that by persuading them to stand differently or act a little crazy. Challenge themā¦ it will enhance the photo fun!
